 * We’ve started receiving the following error and my boss is convinced it’s either
   a plug-in or that it is something else on the site which is killing it.
 * The error message is Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due
   to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the
   limit if necessary. Use ‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace., referer: (various
   web sites are listed here)
 * We’ve reviewed web sites and other possible causes in htdocs.conf and we are
   at an impasse. anyone have any ideas to point us in the right direction?
 * Thanks in advance.

 * You could try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If
   that works, then try reading [Using_Permalinks](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
   before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

 * We just tried that and it made no difference to our structure. We were using
   one of the listed choices included rather than our own custom.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.

 * We might have an idea as to what could be causing this, we just need to see what
   it’s going to do overnight. Will check back on this tomorrow.
