Apache Benchmark and WordPress

  • It’s hard for me to decide if this is a wordpress issue or something funky with Apache Benchmar (ab)

    I run this;

    ab -n 1 -c 1 http://www.geeklan.com/

    It runs, but my concern is;

    It’s DOG slow and;
    HTML transferred: 1 bytes

    That’s not right. That should be the total content size of the page minus images, obviously(23611 bytes as of this post).

    Have any of you seen this issue? I have no idea what that 1 byte is, either.

    I can run a wget on the domain and it pulls down the index just fine – links/lynx also pull up the site fine. Hell, I can even grab it via curl.

  • Forgot to mention;

    I can reproduce this remotely. I’d run an strace on it, but the output from strace is huge and hard for me to visually parse.

    figured it out.

    It’s wordpress sending a 301 redirect based upon the domain you have setup under Options->General

    What’s the reason behind that? Makes no sense to me.
