    WordPress version: 3.5.1
    Plugin version: 2.1
    Link to my site: http://vezulimusic.com/temp/music-library/

I expected the plugin to do this: Handle multiple playlists on the same page

Instead it did this: Multiple calls yield garbage data filled inside all the playlist on the page

Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Just some CSS tricks, and includes. The link right now has all plugins disabled, and back to stock theme. The only thing running is the HTML5 Player.

Ideas: I was wondering if there was a way to make this work? I had some tab sliders going, so people can just click on a mood and the player will show up on the side, but everytime I include more then one call of of the player, example: [hmp_player playlist=’Sad’] or [hmp_player playlist=’Happy’]

It messes up the tracklists of both of them.

I read that this is a limitation of jQuery, but is there a temporary fix, like being able to load the player “Outside” of the page and just display it there?

Thanks for any ideas! Great plugin! Keep up the great work!

Hi franzvz – those are good ideas… but unfortunately I’ve tried just about every work-around I can think of to try to remove the limitation of getting multiple players on one page – no luck so far…. It’s soemthing I’m continuing to work on, but honestly not got very high hopes of achieving in the next few months as I am working on other priority issues with the player.

Sorry I can’t be of more assistance on this issue

It’s fine. Hopefully there’s a magical fix in the future.

I can just put one player per page and just make all the pages identical and change the text on the side.

Thanks for the insight! Keep up the work!

Thanks franzvz. I’ll keep working on it in the future – would be really great to nail this one once and for all!

    Nice gollumXcore,

I though of using iframes, but wanted to avoid them.

Might try to create a blank .php file with a bunch of .js imports.

    Clever, gollumXcore.

To be honest, I’m a bit frustrated such a huge bug exists in a $25 plugin. I was fine paying for it, but to shell that out for something that doesn’t work is pretty annoying. Any word on a timeline for a solution?

I’m completely with @juruwolfe – I feel like I could’ve saved my $ and used a free plugin. If there isn’t a fix for this soon (like in the next day or two) I’m afraid I’m going to have to have my card company do a charge back.

Hi Guys, not being able to do multiple players on the same page/post is a long-term known error and it’s actually a limitation of the original player I based this plugin on. As I wrote earlier in this thread

I’ve tried just about every work-around I can think of to try to remove the limitation of getting multiple players on one page – no luck so far…. I do apologise for this flaw in the plugin but I can only do my best. I have clearly outlined the problem in the documentation, faqs, readme etc so I don’t feel like this is hidden trip up or anything like that. I certainly don’t code plugins to make money – I’m doing it because I want to share my work with the community in the hopes that it will be useful for others, so I promise you there is not intention of ripping people off with a faulty plugin and I do my very best to continue developing and improving this plugin for the benefit of all. If the multiplayer limitation is a real problem for you and prevents the purchased pro plugin being useful for your purposes I would be happy to offer a refund for anyone who feels they need it. While it might not be your intention to “hide” anything, I’m sure lots of the people purchasing the pro version (like myself) are doing it strictly for the multiple playlists feature thinking they’ll be able to have more than one playlist on a page. When a client asked me if he could add another playlist next to his existing one, I told him it wouldn’t be a problem if he purchased the Pro version of the plugin. It seemed like it could handle it after a quick glance at the screen shots, I guess I should have spent more time reading the documentation. :-X

I’m going to try out this hack-ey iframe solution but if it doesn’t work I’m going to have to ask for a refund and look for another solution. πŸ™

Thanks for your feedback Ryan30, I do hear what you’re saying.

I will check through the Pro version documentation and sales site and make sure this limitation is very clearly stated because I definitely do not want to mislead users or cause problems/disappointment with clients.

I also purchased this plugin thinking it could handle multiple playlists per page. I didn’t see that outlined on the site when I purchased it, otherwise I wouldn’t have. I’m pretty frustrated about this.

Has anyone been able to find a free or pay audio player that can handle multiple playlists? I don’t understand why something like a functional and user-friendly audio player is so difficult to find/purchase for WP.

This puts me in a tough seat myself. I also bought it thinking I could have multiple playlists on the same page :/

I also bought the pro version for multiple playlists on the same page πŸ™

Feel free to get in touch via email if you bought Pro version and are unhappy guys. Always happy to help if it’s a solvable issue, or if not then refund is an option.

I was similarly “fooled” by the list of features for the Pro version. I thought I could have more than one playlist on a single web page with the Pro version, for which I paid $25. I have written to [ redacted ] to ask for my money back.

What a huge waste of time trying to get the player to work. To add to my lament, I will note here two other deal-breaking issues:

    1) The Pro version does not strip spaces when it adds underscores in the shortcode.

    2) When I try to add MP3, OGG and cover art files, it inserts the attachment page URL rather than the actual media file URL. This is non-intuitive. I finally figured out how to do this correctly by finding the direct link to each media file.

This is not the forum for seeking support for the “Pro” version. This is the correct way to contact the author for that version.

If you have a problem with the free version that is hosted on the WordPress that please start your own new topic.
