• There is a relatively new e-commerce plugin called DukaPress. It looks very interesting. Has anyone tried this plugin?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I have! But I’m also the plugin author :p

What would you like to know?

You can view the plugin documentation here: http://dukapress.org/docs/

    Thanks for the quick response.

One question I had is regarding payments. If my payment processor is not one of the ones built into DukaPress, would there be a way to use another service? I know that may be a difficult question to answer.

Yes, that is easily doable. What you need to do is to have a developer edit the DukaPress files and add in the Payment processor that you want to use. I’ll do a blog post on how, exactly, to do this. Thanks!

That would be fantastic if you could do a blog post on this! Feel free to post the link in this thread when done.

Also, I wonder if there is a way to accomplish this using a custom file of some type? This way custom payment processor code changes won’t get erased with each DukaPress update.

I am really interested in that as well, as it appears to be a better long-term solution than most other plugins.

Thanks Iva, I am happy you like what we have to offer 🙂

While I’m working on this, could you guys give me links to where you used it? I’d love to see 🙂

I am considering using Dukapress at BMED Press (http://www.bmedpress.com). I have not installed Dukapress yet as I need to figure out if appropriate for my website. The company is new so our products are very limited at the present time. Our first book comes out at the end of September so I am trying to figure out how I will handle my e-commerce transactions in the next few weeks.

I am in the process of switching from wp-ecommerce and found dukapress. It looks great. I just can’t figure out how to set up the pages.

I finally decided to go with Dukapress after trying other shop solution and I’m very happy with it. Trying to work out how to set the product pages was a little time consuming but once I had figured it out the rest was easy enough to set up.
