I’m considering to try Jetpack plugin on Blue Planet theme to see if could be a viable solution to avoid installing many other plugin.

Anyone is running JetPack with Blue Plant? What’s your experience? Any conflict or anything worth to mention?

  • Hey there andreadelriva,

    Hope you’re well! 🙂

I suggest you try it on your own by having a local test environment or local wordpress install. This way you will know personally if there is a problem with Jetpack and Blue Planet related on what you want to do.

Issue occured to other people may be different for you. 🙂

Looking forward for your reply! 🙂

    Take care,
    Calvin

    Thank you Calvin

I do have a sub domain for this theme to make test actually. But since im not an engineer or developer I always ask feedback around, because I dont have the skills yet to solve every problem I may encounter trying different plugin combinations and themes.

I love this theme anyway, and the developer is nice guy. That’s why im opening topics to improve its developing. I wish I could be somehow helpful 🙂

Anyway, I’ve just installed Jetpack also on the main site, which ive just installed on my VPS. So far so good for now now. This topic may be also interest for those who willing to try it and like this theme, which in my opinion deserve better visibility for being a free theme.

So I hope my feedbacks can be helpful for the developer to improve and tweaking the developing

My main concern about this theme for now, is always the loading speed of the webiste. Which i dont know why is generating so many HTTP requests.
And when it comes testing themes and plugin, beside compatibility, page speed is always a concern for me, because is considered an important factor to please google PR and also user experience.

This is it for now 🙂

Good to hear! 🙂 I love folks having test environment before modifying live site to avoid headache and other things 🙂

My main concern about this theme for now, is always the loading speed of the webiste. Which i dont know why is generating so many HTTP requests.

Maybe a lot of images? One image is also one http request. Can you share your site’s url so I can also do a speed test?

Yes, I agree on this one. As long as you don’t do anything blackhat or something you are good with google. 🙂

    Have a good day 🙂

    Best Regards,

Sure, I can provide a live version link of the site. This is the link of the italian version for LGBT online dating websites

On this site there is NOT Jetpack installed yet, but on the other one I’m developing with this theme, there is a bug on the side bar titles with H1 tags for example.

The images displayed are normal headers as every WP blog roll. Ive added maybe Too many images outbound links on side bar?

Or maybe is the images slideshow ? Could be, but It should’t be that heavy…

    Load Time : 2,81 secs
    Page size: 1,4 MB
    HTTP requestes: 95

    Based on Quicksprout page analyzer

Site with JETPACK installed test version

This is the english version im developing, with child theme. For example when I add the sidebar widget Facebook like box, It seems there is a ducplicated h1 TAG. Here is the link to see the bug on test site

This is it for now! Thx Calvin.

    Regards, Andrea

    Hey there Andrea,

You are welcome and I am happy to help you! 🙂

For first-time loading your site is average for 4seconds which I think is bad since you are targeting for google to like you and as well as your first visitor. I suggest you minify the javascript and css ( all possible ) to reduce their file size. Also I suggest to Image Sprite all possible images.

For returning visitor ( who still don’t clear cache and cookies ) your site’s average loading time is 1s.

DIfferent reports you can check and decide what to do:

Let me know if it helps! 🙂

    Take care,

Edit: I also suggest to use image smusher plugin such as :

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/ or
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/kraken-image-optimizer/
