    I was trying to think of ideas for my next plugin, and I thought I would see if there were any requests. :)

    Preferably something that would not require several thousand lines of code, as I do have other things I am working on ;)

    The first idea that I like, I will do.

    Creating an On This Date plugin that works with version 2.0 would be appreciated.

    I'd like a plugin that makes black coffee.

    Ok, I am through. Here it is:

    http://www.dagondesign.com/files/dd-this-day.txt

    This plugin has an options page in the admin panel. Here are the options you can set:

    Max posts to show - 0 for unlimited.

    Sorting - Newest or oldest first.

    Header text - Is displayed before the posts.

    Show other posts from today - If enabled, this will include other posts that were on this exact same day (as the post being viewed). If disabled, it will only show previous year's posts.

    Show the year - If enabled, the year will be shown after each post in the list.

    Let me know how it works for you, and if anything needs to be added :)

    (re)Make the WP2PDF Plugin! (http://wp2pdf.sourceforge.net/) It's so useful but broken on WP2x :-(

    Thanks. That's very good.

    One question . . . this only shows when the permalink is used. Is there a way to display this for the posts when viewed on the homepage?

    Just curious . . .

    Another thing I noticed is that if I have posted on 20 March for three years, 2006, 2005, and 2004, on the posted dated 3/20/06 it will show 3/20/05 and 3/20/04.

    On the 3/20/05 post, it will show 3/20/04.

    On the 3/20/04 post, no others are shown.

    Shouldn't all three posts show the other two?

    Sure,

    In the ddtd_generate function,

    Change this line:

    if (is_single()) {

    to this:

    if (is_single() || is_home()) {

    There are several other functions listed here, for other types of pages, etc..

    :)

    Ah yes..

    Change this line:

    $this_year_check = " AND DATE_FORMAT(post_date, '%Y') < {$curr_year} ";

    to this:

    $this_year_check = " AND DATE_FORMAT(post_date, '%Y') != {$curr_year} ";

    leMaxim.. since I said I would make the first plugin requested that would not be several thousands line long, and:

    1) you were the second person to ask.

    2) the plugin you mentioned is not only huge, but has several dozen files it uses. In other words, it would not be a trivial matter :)

    Oh, sorry, I didn't notice point 1). But it was worth trying! Any suggestions on who could help or alternatives?

    I had not even heard of a plugin to convert WP pages to PDF.. but I will keep it in mind as I look around :)

    How about recreating a WP-people plugin for 202? The actual version lost it with 1.5. Popup windows don't need to be themed, simple HTML windows would be fine. Would consider a donation for a working version.

    ^^ That would be good - can make use of Userextra and Usermeta

    Sounds good.. do you know of a working demo of this? The links I found do not seem to work.

    I found the hack, but I would like to see it in action. :)

    Actually WP 2 already has the little 'about yourself' box.. I imagine it could just use information you put in this, instead of having to use another plugin just to manage bios. What do you think?

    Aleister try the Userextra plugin and see what I mean.

    Since I have not seen an example of the original hack in action, I am not sure exactly what it was displaying.

    Why would you have to use another plugin to handle the extra data, when you already have a way to have a description for the user?

    Are you talking about listing out multiple fields in the popup? like:

    Name:
    Age:
    Location:

    Etc? If so, I can see where it might come in handy to have the extra fields.

    I just wrote up a plugin that turns user names into links which display a popup containing the information in the 'about me' box.

    I added some CSS for the popup window...

    Any thoughts? Is it what you were looking for? or no?

    Anyway... if you wanna use it.. go for it ;)

    I made a page for it:

    Thanks for the plugin Aleister, and your work is appreciated. However, with the wordpress people plugin, you didn't have to be a wordpress user to have a profile. It could be use to identify anyone. That is what I liked most about it. Good work though!
