Anyone know why pictures from removed posts are still showing in google images?

    Hello!
    I have old images within posts that I took down a long time ago, and whilst they no longer link to the main site they are still on google images, and when you click through from google images each removed image is there with a page of it’s own.
    Anyone know how to fully remove an image from a wordpress powered site?

    If “took down” means you deleted the images, this is something you’d have to ask Google. If you didn’t delete them they will still be indexed.

    QM1981 did you manage to solve this issue? I’m having the same problem at the moment.

    This can work both ways,

    Fine, your happy to delete but what if your drive crashed and you lost all your Images. I know how that feels.

    On a new drive you bought you could then go to Google and get copies.

    I use those little USB sticks now.
