[resolved] Anybody have any idea why my site randomly gives out database connection error? (11 posts)

So, I moved my site from Hostgator over to GoDaddy last night (and early this morning). Since then, the site has been fully imported and restored from my database, but it keeps giving out "Error establishing database connection" messages to visitors sporadically. I originally pegged this to be a propagation-related issue, but propagation doesn't randomly stop working once it already has started working. It keeps happening off and on randomly. I've contacted GoDaddy Support, and both times they pulled up the site and said nothing was wrong with it. Could this really be due to propagation, or a need to wait longer?

    My site.

To clarify on "sporadically," it was working for me too, and then stopped for me too. Others are reporting the error as well.

  3. Check your error log on the server to see if there's something there.

How can I do that with GoDaddy? Only thing I see in the cPanel like that is "Error Log," which is blank, and Bandwidth stats.

  5. Ask them if that's yoru full php Error log. I don't know their setup well enough to guess.

Yeah, I don't have any error logs related to the database. After getting off the phone with support again, they're calling the database connection error a propagation issue. Does that make sense?

Here's the only sort of log screenshot I have.

I've tried talking on the phone with GoDaddy support 3 times now and they haven't done anything to fix the issue. I've tried replacing 'localhost' with the address in my wp-config.php and that didn't help either. Propagation? Getting very frustrated.

Did you get to fix this because I am having the same problem right now, I might think it is the memory ram usage. I am going to upgrade to more ram, since the host technical support does not know what the problem may be. If upgrading for more ram would solve it I would get back to you.

    This is the site:

    It was propagation.

How long did it took to propagate because today is the third day and I have noticed that it takes now more time to disconnect from the database.

Before it was around 2-3 hours now it disconnects around 8-9 hours
