Any way to close when click outside the area?

    Anyway to close the panel without having to click to close.

    i.e. by clicking outside the area or mouseover outside the panel area?

    I have had to use a fixed position to keep the tabs in place at the bottom so when I scroll up the panel follows and would like it to click anywhere on the screen to close

    Are you sure this will not confuse or frustrate your visitor?
    why not just use a modal window such as thickbox to display the extra info with intuitive user interaction.
