Support » Fixing WordPress » Any way to change back to older version?

  • I just recently updated my WordPress to the latest version and now my whole site is screwed up and I can’t figure out how to get it fixed.

I have a photoblog. With the old version my lastest post, a picture, would show up on the front page. I have the Prev/Next plug-in installed, and viewers could go back one picture at a time or view my archives.

Now, all my pictures are on the front page and it takes forever to load, and you scroll down to see the pictures. And you have to scroll down through around 160 images to get to the bottom where the page navigation is.

Is there any way to get my older version back, or can anyone tell me how to fix this problem????

  • If you followed the Upgrading WordPress instructions, you made backup of your files and database, so just restore from those.

If you don’t have backups then reverting to a prior version will be next to impossible.

Yes, I did, and thankfully printed out that info. Thank you.

I followed the instructions to restore, but now I keep getting this error in MySQL:

    MySQL said:

#1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘home/stacksv/public_html/wp-admin/
    home/stacksv/public_html/wp-admin/’ at line 1

    Any suggestions????

    Try This

I’m not sure if the upgrade messed up your database, but the above link should at least get your old WP files back.
