I’m pretty sure it will still work until and unless WP undergoes some major alteration (more fundamental even than Gutenberg), but I have not directly confirmed that it’s still working, because I use the successor plugin, which includes numerous additional features. If you’d like to try it out, let me know, and I’ll give you a download link. I do not intend to keep this one updated once I’ve been able to make the new one generally available.

Well, I use it at several production sites, but I have not had independent verification on it. Lack of the latter in combination with the fact that I’ve been terribly busy has delayed my uploading it to the WP Repository for over a year. So, I’ll probably go ahead and do it, and get feedback that way, soon.
