    That was ~3 months ago.

I hope a moderator sees this.

The plugin author knew about the vulnerability a year ago, the plugin got hacked ~6 months ago, and it’s been ~4 months since the pro version was released and the free version promised “soon”.

At this point, the only purpose of this plugin page at WordPress.org is to get people – who are desperate – to buy his pro plugin. Which is not what is allowed by this website.

Seems like all threads here ought to be closed and no new threads allowed, imho.

@terriz Actually it’s policy to NOT remove pages anymore.

We used to remove pages for closed plugins. The problem is that confused users and made it impossible for them to know if a plugin ever had existed before, and why was it gone and what should they do?

Over the last two years, we’ve moved towards a different system where (as of today) a plugin is closed and users are told it’s no longer available. After 60 days, they get a brief reason.

In the case of this plugin, it clearly states it was closed for a SECURITY reason.

Now if someone sees that and thinks “Gee, this plugin has security issues they haven’t fixed since March. I’m totally going to pay them for a pro version!” well, there’s very little we can do to educate them.

But. We don’t feel that leaving the page up is an ‘advertisement’ at all. In fact, it’s really a good warning. If a plugin is closed for a security reason and they never fix the free version? You really shouldn’t give them your money.

Thank you @ipstenu – that makes perfect sense.
