• Any experts on Cumulative Layout Shift out there?

    I am having issues with a high CLS score on all of my pages on my website and have no idea how to fix them. I’ve used the Lighthouse tool and Page Speed Insights to try and work out the problem and according to Page Speed insights, the main culprit for Mobile pages is this element:

    <div class=”related-posts”>

    And for desktop pages it is:

    But I still don’t know how to fix the issue.

    I actually have a second website using exactly the same theme, with the same plugins, but for some reason that has no CLS issues at all.

    The site has excellent Page Speed and GTMetrix scores, but CLS is now part of Google’s Core Web Vitals, which is its main ranking signal, so I’d really like to get this sorted.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

  • Visually inspecting, there is a lot going on with that site in terms of stuff being loaded. But take a look at featured videos – it seems they are not reserving their space before loading.

    Thank you for your reply Alan, much appreciated.

    I just turned the video off on that page and the CLS issue persists. The Page Speed report still says the Element causing the biggest CLS issue is:

    Which I don’t understand why or how to solve it.
