Thank you, that’s exactly what I wanted to see which leads to my next question. How come some search engine results show the star rating from WP Customer Reviews, and others don’t?

That’s as hard to answer as “Why don’t I rank #1 in Google?” Not everyone is using the latest version (better markup), not everyone has reviews…pick your reason. Also, you can’t guarantee what Google will choose to pick up and display.

So you’re saying even if I use the latest version and have lots of reviews, and everything is setup correctly, google can choose not to display the star rating as produced by the plugin?

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. We can only make a plugin that follows their guidelines for structured data, etc. They control what they index and display in the SERPS.

The vast majority of search engine results don’t show the stars, number of ratings or reviews. The only one that really had any impact in the search engine results was a site called Sonora Subaru Family Club It shows a graphic of the stars, the rating number 4.9 and the number of total reviews. It appears they’re using WordPress 3.4!
