Have you tried using the “Use First Image as Featured Image” setting in Postie?

Hi Wayne, thanks for the quick reply!
Yes, “Use First Image as Featured Image” is checked, and it works.
But if i setup a plugin like the ones above, that should set their own image, ONLY if there’s no featured image, i get the image from their settings, and not he one attached to the email.
The theme i’m using is the beautiful Magnus ( http://magnus.thefivethemes.com/ )

I suspect that those plugins are integrating with the post editor and since Postie doesn’t make use of that their logic is being bypassed.
You (or someone) would need to figure out how the plugins work then create a Postie AddOn that calls the right methods. See http://postieplugin.com/extending/

    Hi everyone.

Same mistake with Plugin “Category Featured Images – Extended”. If this Plugin is activated, the Postie-Plugin is not able to set the featured Image which is included in the mail.

I just read many lines of the php code, but I have no idea to correct it for myself.

Does anybody have a solution for this problem?

    EDIT:
In the table “wp_xxx_postmeta” the field “meta_key” with the Value “_thumbnail_id” and the image number, does not exist. The image is correctly saved in the media gallery.

    TNX, Stephan

    Hello Everybody,
I see the issue is marked as “solved”, does this mean there’s a workaround now? I’d really like to be able to attach a default featured image to the post without attaching it every time to the email.

    Thank you

The workaround is to use one of the several plugins that already does this.
