Support » Plugin: DuracellTomi's Google Tag Manager for WordPress » Any clue why I would get this in Analytics?

  • The Ad Destination URL [mysite] from the AdWords account [Mysite] Ads:xxxxxxxx has accrued a significant number of clicks but a lower-than-expected number of sessions. After analysis, the tracking code on the page appears to be correct. Check the page’s latency using the Google PageSpeed tool. Also check your keyword-level, ad-extension and merchant center feed URLs for proper tagging if they are present in your creative or campaign configuration.

My PageSpeed for mobile is 91 and Desktop is 98.

Seems like tag is ok, not seeing why there is a ‘discrepancy’ issue.

    Hi @usabih,

There can be several legitime reasons for such a message.

For example are we talking about Gmail Ads campaigns or GDN campaigns with responsive ads that can also appear as GMail Ads? With Gmail ads you will collect clicks as email opens which will not lead to sessions on your website. In that case, GA could report this message which will be a false positive error.

I have GDN currently turned on, I did have GmailAds about two weeks ago. But error still pops up after I hit ‘fix” yesterday.

Is there something I need to look for when I pop open the google tag manager assistant?

Session and click discrepancy is usually not something you can check within Google Tag Manager as it is related to how a particular ad system counts a click.

What you can check is whether you have mail.google.com in your placement report in your Google Ads campaign.

If you dismiss the notification in GA, does it return after some days?
