  • The jquery-core library included with WordPress has always been disabled on my website as it’s unnecessary and introduces security vulnerabilities. See this post from @floatworkjan regarding the same thing.

The anti-spam functions that utilize jQuery are trivial to convert to vanilla JS so that there is no dependency on a third-party library. On that note, I’d like reiterate @floatworkjan’s question from over 18 months ago: is the Cerber team open to PRs to achieve this?

It may also be worthwhile to provide more technical documentation for advanced users and theme authors to build forms that work with the Cerber anti-spam mechanisms instead of arbitrarily augmenting all existing forms with hidden fields.

For now, I’m unfortunately not able to take advantage of the Cerber anti-spam functions and hope that these updates can be included in a future release.

Hi! We are open to some degree. What is the goal of all of that?

@gioni The primary goal is to remove the dependency on a third-party library. Cerber is assuming that jQuery is loaded on the frontend, however, that’s not necessarily the case.

I didn’t see any information on your website about submitting a PR.
Please advise on the process for submitting changes and I’ll be happy to file a PR with your team.

    Thanks.
