Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » Another update another broken site

  • I just don’t understand how the wp supercache authors can break sites almost every time they release an update. It does a complicated job but I am sick to death of wasting time finding that it has either tripped itself OFF (look at admin and find it has disabled itself) or with the latest update today 7/8/2017 just completely taken a site out with things like:

    #7 /home/xxx/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php(2753): do_acti in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache.php on line 2906
[07-Aug-2017 14:42:40 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_supercache_dir() in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache.php:2906

Use w3 total cache instead. The interface looks scary but the caching is better and you don’t lose days of your life as a developer trying to get sites live again after WP supercahce has thrown yet another fit.
