    Hi all,

    Getting the out of memory error when uploading images, except this time forum fixes fixes aren't working. Spent the last hour looking through form posts, and for the first time, I'm stumped.

    Here's the post

    Error message

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 33030144) (tried to allocate 6400 bytes) in /homepages/15/d338993108/htdocs/weworkforthem/wp-includes/media.php on line 254

    Added this to php.ini [it's the only line of text in the file]. Is that right?

    memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (64MB)

    Didn't work, so added this to wp-config.php

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    tried revising .htaccess, but that created a fatal wordpress error and could not get back to dashboard

    Try setting it to a higher value:
    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

    Thanks for the reply, but before I run off and do it - let me ask which directory these files are located in. They are scattered all over, and I'm not sure where I should be

    You need to put that line in your wp-config.php
    Its all here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

    The oddest thing occurred - took one of the images at 690k and ran out of memory. Then took 6 images at around 170k each and they all uploaded fine. Not really sure why that is, but it's working - baffling. Thank you for your help. I've gone through and made all the file edits anyway.
