  • My archive page is listing productions by season with titles and dates. The most recent season displays the title followed by a date range, which is exactly how I want it. For example: “Tue Jun 20, 2017 to Sun Jul 2, 2017”

The preceding season just lists the titles up until October 1999 when it lists the title and “until Thu Oct 21, 1999” below. This continues through 1973. From 1974 – 1973 it goes back to just titles. In 1972 – 71 it goes back to “until…..” Part of 1970 has “until……” 1969 – 1951 just lists titles. It’s perplexing!

Here is the page in question

This is because the {{dates}} placeholder is meant to only shows upcoming dates.

To display historic dates as well you need to write some additional code to create a new placeholder (eg. {{all_dates}}) and a function that output all dates.

This code is an example off how to add a new placeholder:

If it is only meant to show upcoming dates then why is it showing “until Mon Aug 24, 1970” for instance?

This is a limitation of PHP, where it is unable to handle dates that are before 1970. The Theater plugin should be able to handle it though, so I guess I’m going to fix this in a future release.

I created a issue for this on Github, if you would like to follow the progress on this issue (or contribute!).
