Anonymous Donor display

    Hello,

    I completely understand the concept of allowing donors to remain anonymous.

    But unless I am missing something, anonymous donors are not listed *at all* on the donor_wall. It seems that they should be at least listed like ‘Anonymous Donor – $100’

    Rationale:

    1/ if we have 10 donors listed on the wall, and their donations add up to $1000, but our Amount Raised shows $1500, that just looks weird. Like maybe we are fudging numbers.

    2/ More importantly, if we have anonymous donors, at least we *have* donors, and other potential donors should see that donors *are* participating in the campaign. This creates a ‘call to action’ and ‘safety in numbers’ that helps others to decide to participate in an ‘active’ campaign as well.

    It would be nice to (maybe optionally) list Anonymous Donors (anonymously, of course) 🙂 as an entry on the Donor Wall.

    That’s good feedback, particularly how you mention if folks do the math it looks fishy. The ability to show the donation and even the comment with the name anonymized I think makes a lot of sense. We’ll look into it.

    Hello @impressorg @webdevmattcrom,

    We recently purchased the GiveWP bundle and are in need of this fix as well. We’ve recieved emails from multiple donors who donated anonymously but were worried that their donations did not go through as they didn’t see an anonymous donor listed on our website’s donor wall.

    Is there a snippet we can employ as a temporary fix while the Give team works on a permanent solution?

    Hi there,

    This isn’t so much a “fix” as a feature enhancement. There is no snippet currently, but I’ll look into whether that can be done with a snippet.

    But considering your donors see a donation confirmation and get a confirmation by email as well, their doubt is a bit surprising.
