    Hello Team,

I just started using your plug in. I have a couple questions I need help on.

    1) I entered my UA code in the plug in. Does this mean you now have access to my google analytics information?

    2) How do I use Complianz Plug In to anonymize IPs? I think I set this up through your wizard, but it wasn’t very clear. Could you check if this is working on my site?

    3) Could you check if your cookie blocker is working on my site?

    4) If I am using your plug in. What do I need to include in my Privacy Policy about using your service to be GDPR compliant?

I appreciate your time and help.

    Thanks

    Hi @maxlwie,

    1) no, this is used to set up the analytics code on your site.
    2) When you setup analytics using Complianz, ip is anonymized by default. This is configured correctly on your site.
    3) Complianz GDPR Cookie consent does not process any personally identifiable data from your visitors, so you do not need to include anything in the privacy policy about this plugin. The used (functional) cookies are already automatically included on your cookie policy.

If you have any questions, let me know.

    Hey Rogier,

wow thanks for the fast reply. How do I know if my cookie blocker is working properly?

    Thanks a ton!

I just checked, the cookie blocker marker data-cmplz is in your source, which shows it’s active.

    Awesome, thanks a ton.

If I wanted to stop using google analytics completely how would I got about turning it off? If I deactivate google analytics in the wizard somehow would this remove my tracking code? Before using the Complianz Plug In I had google analytics, but I forgot how I got the code to be in my header.php. I believe it was done through another plug in. If I were to deactivate the Complianz Plug In to test if there is another GA tracking code somewhere in my source code would this delete all the settings I have set up in Complianz? I just want to see if it is the only thing that is currently linking to my GA account. Then I would activate Complianz again after.

    Thanks for the great support.

    Hi @maxlwie,

In the wizard, there’s a question “do you compile statistics on your website?”.

If you choose “no”, Complianz will not add the analytics tracking code. The plugin will only do this if you choose “yes, with Google Analytics”.

Depending on some answers to other questions, the plugin will also ask “do you want Complianz to handle the statistics tracking code”. In that case the code still won’t be added by the plugin if you answer “no”.

To answer your question: The quickest way to do your check, is to answer the compile statistics question with “no”. Complianz will then stop adding the analytics code.
