I have the latest version installed (Version 2.13.4.0), verified by clicking ‘check for updates’, but still keep getting this warning:

Warning: The installed version of UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore has not been tested on your version of WordPress (4.9). It has been tested up to version 4.8.

    Please make it go away!

    Hi,

Latest UpdraftPlus free version is 1.13.14 and for UpdraftPlus Premium users you should have 2.13.14.x.

For UpdraftPlus Premium users, you can send us a support request using this form –

    Kind Regards,

We use the free version. There must have been an update just after I updated, giving the warning but making me think it was the latest version. However the ‘check for updates’ does return ‘you have the latest version’.

Problem now is that it takes Dreamweaver up to an hour to ftp the new version’s downloaded folder. And it rarely does it well, frequently missing files. I’ve spent hours now trying to update it.

I wish one could update Updraft like any other plugin on WP.

Ok after many hours I’ve uploaded the very latest free version. The plugins page shows Version 2.13.4.0, the annoying warning is still there, and ‘check for updates’ says ‘This plugin is up to date.’.

    What now?

    Hi,

The version you have installed (2.13.14.0) is the ‘Premium-ready’ version.
This is intended for any add-ons or Premium version.

The free version is version 1.13.12, and is available from the WordPress Plugin Directory. This version updates in the same manner as any other free WordPress plugin.

Please could you delete the currently uninstalled version of UpdraftPlus, and install the free version:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

I followed the link on your site for ‘free download’. This is what I have done for numerous updates. That is what I downloaded and installed whatever WP is showing as the version number. I’m NOT doing it again. I have never been able to download via WP. It NEVER shows as ‘update available’ on the plugins page. And I’ve never had this sort of warning before.

If I go to ‘add plugins’ on the Plugin page and find Updraft Plus, it says ‘active’. ‘More Details’ on the ‘Add plugins’ page says Version: 2.13.4.0. And the version on the ‘read me’ of the latest free download (that I installed) says ‘Stable tag: 1.13.4’.
    So a complete mess.

And if I delete the one I’m using won’t all my settings be deleted?

“Stable Tag:” is an internal header field used by wordpress.org to indicate the latest version to make available at wordpress.org.

    David

If I de-activate the plugin in dashboard and click delete I get the warning “Are you sure you want to delete UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore and its data?” and the ‘Add plugins’ page doesn’t allow redownloading, just ‘activate’.

So by de-install do you mean delete by FTP?

You must have meant that because that’s what I’ve done and it’s worked!
