Quite often, without an obvious reason, I get an annoying error. And it seems to me that the backend is slower and more overloaded than before.

Is it possible that the plugin is constantly scanning something in the background, and if so, can it be turned off?

    Hey @cvladan !

    Thanks for your message.

No, the scanner does not scan always, it only scans when triggered via:

    – A public post / page got saved -> the page gets scanned
    – Cookies > Scanner > Scan complete website

“Not Found”: That means, the URL was scanned by our scanner but run into a 404 Not Found error. Can you please check if the URL is still part of your sitemap but is no longer available?

Can you please share the timings of your backend (e.g. Query Monitor) when Real Cookie Banner is active and when it is deactivated?

Thank you for your response. I understand that the scanner only scans when triggered by a public post or page being saved or by the “Cookies > Scanner > Scan complete website” option.

However, I am concerned that this automatic scanning is slowing down my backend. Is there a way to disable this automatic scanning, either through a hook or a UI option?

    Hi again @cvladan !

Unfortunately, we do not offer such a hook, as we do not intend to have the scanner turned off. This could have consequences for your website, should you include services and not have been made aware of it. We prefer to find out the root cause of the problem.

Can you please share the timings of your backend (e.g. Query Monitor) when Real Cookie Banner is active and when it is deactivated (via video)?

I’m sorry to say that I don’t think I’ll be able to spend more time on this.

My hosting company is raidboxes.io, and I’ve noticed that their server can be quite slow with this particular plugin activated. When I deactivate it, the speed improves greatly.

I haven’t experienced this issue with other cookie plugins.

    Thank you for understanding!
