  • I have the same issue, if I turn off ckeditor and make a change to a page, then no alert, switch ckeditor back on and the issue returns.

Just ignore the alert, nothing will be lost. Since the author doesn’t update this plugin anymore, I guess you can either live with it or switch to another editor.

Where’s function that fires this alert? It really driving me crazy! Any help?

No idea where the function is, I just switched to a different editor, problem solved.

This is not solved. I’ve the same error and in console i found this.

    The full url is this.

Version of wordpress is 3.9.2. Thank you for helping

The compatibility with WordPress 4.0 has been fixed in CKEditor for WordPress 4.4.4.

Can you check if the issues is gone and report back? Make sure to clear the browser cache.

The issue is not yet gone. The browser cache is clear yet it still is a problem. Thanks, Wiktor,

    Kathy

I still get this warning, with now reason. (CKEditor for WordPress 4.4.4)

Yes, the window.onbeforeunload handler error persists, despite update 4.4.4. We genuinely need to remedy for this well known and annoying IE + CKEditor conflict! Browser cache is ultra cleaned by CCleaner.

Still no support for this issue, 30 days later?

Also, CKEditor knocks out the short codes provided by themes, at least those we work with. IMIC Framework Short codes should show as an option in Visual editor, along with Revolution Slider… gone.

Going to have to switch back to TinyMCE Advanced 4.1.1. At least it works in harmony with other WordPress functions, no annoying handler errors and retains the short codes. So long buggy plugin…

This should be resolved in 4.4.5 now thanks to @vokiel! Please check the latest version and report back whether the issue is gone. Make sure to clear the browser cache.

Nope, vokiel didn’t accomplish anything related to this issue.

Caches cleaned, WP optimize ran, the same window.onbeforeunload handler error “Are you sure you want to leave this page?” persists in IE 11.

Short codes are missing from the Visual tool bar, and the editor bar for the HTML option is still disabled by CKEditor.

Tried in Google Chrome 38, no nagging popup on saving edits, but CKEditor still knocks out any theme or plugin short codes drop downs, and disables the HTML editor bar.

Back to TinyMCE Advanced 4.1.1 and everything works perfectly in every browser.
