• It used to be a very useful plugin. From the technical standpoint it propbaly still is, but with every update of the plugin, there are forced changes to the settings, forced changes of the dashboard and the admin-navi.

    This is annoying and disturbing.
    And certainly not accepatable.
Imagine, this would happen with every update of every single plugin!
You would most propably stop working with wordpress as a whole.

Since this became even worse with the latest update(s), I will replace this plugin with another one: and recommend this to everybody.

    Update 2016-11-04:

with version 2.3.11. again a feature has been removed. This time with consequences for the frontend-display. This shows again, that this plugin should no longer be used

    – Forded 2nd Position in Navi (was possible to change until last update)
    – SEO-News Feed on dashboard (new since last update)
    – Info-Screeen instead of dashboard after first login after update (since a few updates)
    – Columns generated by plugin on pages- and posts-dashboards cannot be removed (was possible until last update)

We removed some settings from the UI, and will continue to do so in future versions, in response to requests from users to slim down the overwhelming number of options. As we add additional functionality, some of which requires options in the UI, we have to make decisions about what to remove so that it isn’t confusing and overwhelming for many users. We understand that some users like having options for everything, which is how we did things in the past. Unfortunately we can’t please everyone. 🙂

Each of these things can still be configured:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Screens#Screen_Options
    – This is standard practice with many other large plugins, including BBPress, BuddyPress, Jetpack, etc

    Hi Andreas,

As I said, we’re very welcome to feedback. The goal is to make a great plugin that serves the needs of users, and if we aren’t doing that in some way then we want to know so we can make changes.
I’m glad you’re liking the latest update better. You’re welcome to change your rating. 🙂
