Timeline Express was working beatifully before. Now, all of a sudden when I edit a current announcement or create a new one, change the Announcement Date and hit update – timeline express changes the Announcement Date back to the current date.

Our site scheduled to launch on Monday – please help!

Note that everything was working before a few months ago – event with the date modified. This issue started happening around 30 days ago.

The Date format settings is a general WordPress option, and is where the date format is inherited from.

If you have not included any date modifications and your date settings on the ‘Settings > General > Date Format’ page is not set to ‘Y’ then I’m not sure how you are limiting the date to just the year in the date selection field.

Please provide us with all of the options you have set for Timeline Express and your WordPress settings under ‘Settings > General’. We will have to see if we can replicate the issue on our end. At this point in time, we aren’t able to replicate the issue but are continuing to dig to see if we can come up with the steps taken.

If you could outline the steps you are taking when you are noticing the issue that would be beneficial.

Did you see this post I made yesterday? I contains the link you your article explaining how to limit the date and a screenshot of my timeline express settings:
“I don’t see General > Date Format under my Timeline Express settings, so maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Here is a screenshot of my Timeline Express Settings window:

There is no glitch in the video – I am using the instructions at https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/documentation/change-announcement-date-format/ to have Timeline Express show the year only. The actual timeline is on the page http://camacpreview.com/camac/about-us/”

    Hi @ coachalastair,

We are working on releasing a patch as we speak.

Version 1.3.7 will hopefully resolve the issue for you.

I will post back here when we’ve had a chance to roll that out.

To anyone facing an issue with the dates not saving properly, the 1.3.7 patch should be up here in the WordPress.org repository in the next 10 minutes or so.

Feel free to post back here with the results.

Working for me now, thanks very much for resolving so quickly.

Awesome, thank you so much for keeping us up to date on the issue. Glad that we could get a patch out relatively quickly to help resolve things.

Anyone else still facing issues after updating to version 1.3.7, please post here and we can re-investigate.

    Hi,
I’m waiting for the update for the Pro version

@fogyhouse The Pro version has been released as well. Feel free to update there.

    Thanks again!

Without us editing the announcements or doing anything with the settings – half of the dates on our timeline have reset to 2017 (see http://camacpreview.com/camac/about-us/)
I would like to find out what happened before I spend the large amount of time it will take going back to each announcement, finding the correct date, and fixing it in the timeline. Do you know what could have caused this? I’m wondering if this is related to the issues we had above with the date saving, maybe triggered by an update of the Timeline Express plugin?

    Hi @coachalastair,

We did update to the latest version of our metabox framework, but I don’t believe that should have any effect on previously stored dates.

Did you alter the date formats at all? What is the date format you are using? I can attempt to do some testing between the two versions with your settings to see if I encounter any hiccups.

No, I didn’t alter the date formats at all. As a matter of fact, we hadn’t been in the WordPress control panel at all.

I just updated to the paid version and added the Toolbox plugin to replace the date customization code in the functions.php that did the same thing. Hopefully this helps.
