Announcements Revert to Current Date
-
Timeline Express was working beatifully before. Now, all of a sudden when I edit a current announcement or create a new one, change the Announcement Date and hit update – timeline express changes the Announcement Date back to the current date.
Our site scheduled to launch on Monday – please help!

Seems the js-calendar didn’t work correct. Try to type the date via hand in the field.
Hi there,
It sounds like there is some sort of JavaScript conflict, possibly with your theme or another plugin.
Can you run through these steps in your browser of choice:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_DiagnosisThe process is different for each browser. That should help us narrow it down a bit.
Thanks!
EvanTried doing that – it doesn’t work. Any other thoughts?
Here is what I got from the console:
jquery-migrate.js?ver=1.4.1:23 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed with logging active, version 1.4.1

Have you tried disabling jetpack or timeline express to see if one or the other resolves the issue?
What modules do you have active in Jetpack so that I can test to see if I can replicate the issue.
Thanks,
EvanI have pretty much the default settings for Jetpack 4.5:
Under General:
Both Notifications and JSON API are on.
Under Engagement:
Site Stats – on
Sharing – on
Publicize – on
Related Posts – on
Comments – off
Subscriptions – on
Gravatar Hovercards – on
Sitemaps – on
Ehanced Distribution – on
Site Verification – on
Under Security:
Only Protect is on
Under Appearance
Tiled Galleries, Infinite Scroll, Mobile Theme, and Holiday Snow are off. The rest are on.
Under Writing:
Contact Form and Markdown are off, the rest are on.By the way – Timeline Express does the same thing even after I have JetPack disabled. The console log is blank with Jetpack disabled.
I’m also having this issues, attempt to enter “2005” into the date field, it saves and reverts to 2017.
No javascript errors that i can see.
I also dont have jetpack installed.
Any additional suggestions? We were planning a launch on 2/6/2017 – and this is the only remaining issue.
The only reason that this issue would occur would be a javascript error.
We recommend that you disable <b>ALL</b> plugin on your site and re-test the issue. If you the issue still persisting you can then try temporarily switching themes and re-testing. There must be some a JavaScript conflict coming from another plugin or from your theme – as the plugin running on a fresh WordPress install using any of the bundled themes (TwentySixteen/TwentySeventeen) doesn’t encounter this issue.
At each point during testing you should re-test the issue to see if it has been resolved.
If you want to contact us via the contact on our form and reference this issue with your WordPress.org username, we would be happy to help investigate the isue with you.

@fogyhouse, since you are a pro user you can email us directly from within the plugin itself, or via the contact form on our site https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/contact/
UPDATE: I can definitely confirm that @mrrontour is correct and it’s an issue with the calendar functionality on the app. If I type in the date in full (for example January 1, 2014, then it saves on update. If I try to use the default calendar functionality the date changes, then reverts back to the current date on update. See this screenshot video: https://youtu.be/StPoQZlrfME
What is the date format that you are using? On Settings > General > Date Format are you using just ‘Y’ as the date?
How are you setting just the year for the announcement? The video looks like it glitches at some point in the video and just sits at the year selection.
I don’t see General > Date Format under my Timeline Express settings, so maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Here is a screenshot of my Timeline Express Settings window:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kfexoh60jyn6ipg/TimelineExpress_CalendarError_02_06_2017_Settings.png?dl=0There is no glitch in the video – I am using the instructions at https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/documentation/change-announcement-date-format/ to have Timeline Express show the year only. The actual timeline is on the page http://camacpreview.com/camac/about-us/
