 * Hi Chris,
 * You can toggle the visibility of the announcement dates using the settings on
   the Timeline Express settings page. The following screenshot is an example of
   how to do so:

 * If you’re enjoying the plugin and would like further support, please consider
   supporting future development by [purchasing a support license](http://www.evan-herman.com/wordpress-plugin/timeline-express/)
   which enables you to submit premium support requests directly from within the
   plugin. It will also go along way towards continued support and development.
 * Thanks a bunch!
    Evan

 * Thanks for your answer.
 * But the probleem is always present, when I click on “Read more” button.

 * Hi I’m not sure I understand the issue. Setting the read more link to hidden
   will hide the read more button on the front end as well as remove the link wrapped
   around the icon.
 * Thanks,
    Evan

 * [@evan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/evan/): I got the same problem as
   Chris. It seems, Chris explained the problem insufficient. So let me give a try.
   The problem is not situated at the timeline, but at the single post, which is
   linked by the “Read more” button. Chris’ website is in French, my is in German.
   In both cases the English term “Announcement Date” doesn’t fit to the language
   of our sites. Therefore a solution could be, either to hide “Announcement Date”
   from the post page, or to provide a possibility to translate the term in a foreign
   language. None of both options is available now. Your proposal, switching off
   the visibility of the announcement date, concerns the visibility of the date
   at the timeline, not at the single post. Therefore it can’t solve the problem.
   Both, Chris and me, appreciate the “Read more” feature. Switching it off is not
   a solution.
    In this context, there are some more issues: It is not possible
   to configure an individual breakpoint betweeen the excerpt and the rest of the
   text on individual level of an announcement. Up to now, there is a global option
   to define either a random length of the excerpt (I have no idea, who needs this)
   or to define an “Announcement Excerpt Length” as a number of characters. Both
   options don’t fit to my expectations. I would highly appreciate an option on
   individual level of announcement, to define the breakpoint between the excerpt
   and the rest of the text. To solve the problem, I’m thinking about a workaround:
   The excerpt will be the only text of the announcement. The full text will be
   content of a separate blog post. And the “Read More” function will be substituted
   by an individual link from the announcement at timeline to the appropriate blog
   post. I haven’t tried it yet, but it should be possible. And it could solve all
   problems mentioned above.
 * BTW: It’s a good idea to support the development by purchasing a support license.
   Thanks for providing this opportunity!
 * Kind regards,
 * Eckhard
