    Hi,

I didn't see any mention in the documentation about it so I thought I would ask before I go modifying the plugin. Is it possible to allow a user to click a link on the web page and it will open up the corresponding placemark on the map? I know the Google Maps API can do this but wasn't sure if the feature was already integrated.

    Kind Regards,

    Jake Jackson

It's not available in the current version, but will be when 1.10 is released. You can download trunk now if you'd like to check it out. The [bgmp-list] shortcode uses it when the "viewonmap" parameter is set to true.

You can form arbitrary links to do it by mimicking what the [bgmp-list] shortcode does.

Hi Ian. This looks to be exactly what I am trying to do, but I don't understand the instructions for accomplishing it. I am starting a blog that will highlight various locations in our city (one blog post per location). On a separate page I will have a map containing placemarks for all of the locations. I would like to put a link in each blogpost that would open the map page and highlight the specific placemark for that location. Is this possible and, if so, how do I encode the links that will accomplish this.

    Thanks,
    Peter

pmf13, the map and list have to be on the same page in order for it to work. On the page, you'd add both the [bgmp-map] and [bgmp-list] shortcodes. See the Installation page for details on using them.

The only other step would be to add the viewonmap parameter to the [bgmp-list] shortcode. e.g.,

    [bgmp-list viewonmap="true"]
