    Hi,
First, Thank you for this fantastic plugin.

For a relaunch, I am working on a new site using the latest WP version (5.0.1). Since I updated WordPress to version 5, the links in ToC are not working anymore. I noticed that the IDs in the headings are not set. I only see
    <h2>My Headline</h2>
    instead of
    <h2 id="my-headline">My Headline</h2>

I tested it with my themes and also with Twenty Seventeen. All plugins are deactivated. I also tried to use the classic editor (plugin), but this step doesn’t change my situation.

I hope you can find a solution to get the plugin ready for WP5 and Gutenberg.
    Thanks in advance!

My test site has WP 5.0.1 installed and the heading links are being created and are functional. I’ve tested using the core WP heading block. If you are using a 3rd party heading block, perhaps it does not add the heading in a standard way which can not be indexed in order to create the TOC item links.

    Hi Steven,
    Thanks for your fast answer.

I removed all other plugins and I tried different standard themes from WP. For me, It’s not working 🙁 I also removed and re-installed Easy Table of Contents plugin.

Edit: For testing, I created a completely new WP installation and only installed the Easy TOC plugin. Unfortunately, the hashs are not placed in the <hx> tag.

Odd, I can not think of a single reason why it would work for me and not you.

Can you please contact me in my [support forum](https://connections-pro.com/support/forum/general-support/)? Thanks!

Alright, I posted a thread in your support forum. Thanks again!

I am having this same issue. The plugin worked for a little while but then stopped, am still trying to backtrace what I did when it stopped working.

Edit: after enabling classic editor and deleting block tags, the plugin works fine.

A short follow up: My failure was that I just used do_shortcode(‘[ez-toc]’) in my theme, and I expected another behavior. But, as Steven wrote in other threads, the shortcode only replaces the ToC. Now I am using a widget, and everything runs as I wish.

Thank you, Steven, for the amazing plugin and your active support!
