 * Hi,
 * I am trying to connect my Google Analytics account to Site Kit but I am getting
   the following error:
 * “Error: Your Google account does not have sufficient permissions for this Analytics
   account, so you won’t be able to see stats from it on the Site Kit dashboard.
   This service was originally connected by an administrator — you can contact them
   for more information.”
 * I have recently purchased the site and had all administrative privileges transferred
   to the account I am trying to connect with. There are no other emails associated
   with the Google Analytics Account or Property other than mine.
 * I have successfully connected Google Search Console using the same account, but
   it doesn’t seem to want to recognise my administrator rights for Analytics.
 * Can you help?

 * Hi there [@coheedandclarke](https://wordpress.org/support/users/coheedandclarke/),
 * Sorry to hear you’ve been encountering this notice when connecting the Analytics
   module. As the notice mentions another administrator setup the Analytics module
   previously what you can do is disconnect the Analytics module, before then connecting
   once more _(Site Kit > Settings > Analytics > Edit > Disconnect Analytics from
   Site Kit)_.

 * The above will ensure that you, as a site administrator can connect the module
   using any Analytics property, which you already have access to. Let me know how
   you get on with the above.

 * Thanks James,
 * I followed your directions and disconnected Analytics.
 * On the Site Kit dashboard there is now a large blue box which says “Learn more
   about what visitors do on your site” and has a link to “SET UP ANALYTICS ->”.
 * I click that link and the Google Analytics logo appears in a “CONNECT SERVICE”
   box with a blue loading bar. This tries to load for about 15 seconds before I
   am again given the exact same error I mentioned before:
 * “Error: Your Google account does not have sufficient permissions for this Analytics
   account, so you won’t be able to see stats from it on the Site Kit dashboard.
   This service was originally connected by an administrator — you can contact them
   for more information.”
 * The additional text states:
 * “An existing Universal Analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-xxxxxx56-
   1. Since this tag refers to the same property selected here, Site Kit will not
   place its own tag and rely on the existing one. If later on you decide to remove
   this tag, Site Kit can place a new tag for you.”
 * The “Account” and “Property” boxes underneath are greyed out as I have no other
   properties or accounts associated with this email address.
 * It also says “A Google Analytics 4 property will also be created. LEARN MORE”
   but the “CONFIGURE ANALYTICS” button is greyed out as I can’t select an account/
   property to configure.
 * Please let me know what to do next.
 * Cheers

 * Many thanks for the update. The latest notice you’re encountering is slightly
   different to the previous notice, where there was a mention of another administrator
   having connected the Analytics module.
 * As there seems to be an existing Analytics snippet placed on your site independent
   of Site Kit we’ll need to determine the source of this non Site Kit placed snippet,
   before removing it so you can connect with your preferred property.
 * The snippet may have been placed via theme configuration, theme insertion (header.
   php or footer.php) or a third party plugin. If you want to share your Site Health
   information via [this form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lhjns2K7c0Ny7ME4gxTcsnYtNUtcMr8BvFpPQi23Y1E/)
   and I can see if I notice any plugins with Analytics integration.

 * Hi James,
 * I got rid of the GA tag I had put into the theme files and tried to reconnect
   using the method you described and it worked.
 * Thanks heaps!!

 * Glad to hear it, many thanks for the follow up. If you have any further queries
   going forward be sure to reach out! Best of luck with your site and happy new
   year.
