I have installed Site Kit and connected it to Analytics and Optimize. It does not show any errors or warnings.
I am creating a simple experiment in Optimize.
But when I click “Check installation” in “Details – Optimize” page it opens my site and shows an error message:

    Analytics pageview not detected
This page isn’t sending pageview hits to Google Analytics property (UA-68831841-2) configured for this experiment. You won’t be able to measure usage of your site or monitor performance of Optimize experiments. Make sure that your Analytics tracking code (either analytics.js or gtag.js ) is set up correctly.

Didn’t Site Kit setup these files? What should I do to fix this problem?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for reaching out. I’ve checked your site and it looks like you have the option to not count logged in users disabled, which can be the cause of this notice in many cases (Analytics will not fire for logged in users in such situations).

Can you please inform me if you encounter the same notice at present? If so please right click on the Optimize Chrome Extension and allow this extension to run on a browser incognito window. . After doing so please login to optimize from an incognito window and test once more.

Thank you. Turning off the option “Exclude from Analytics Logged-in users” solved this problem.

Can you add information about this option to the error message? It is not at all obvious that we need to turn this option off to fix this error.

Nice troubleshooting, glad to hear you were able to solve it.

This is a great suggestion and I was thinking the same after you posted this topic. I’ve since created a GitHub issue below so we can work on this, many thanks for the contribution.

Feel free to keep track of any progress on this by subscribing to this issue. I can also keep you posted here should we have any updates on this. Let me know if you wish for me to make any modifications to that issue.
