• Hi Kyle,

do you think you could add Timeline Jump, Paused and Resumed events to Google Analytics reporting? It would be HUGE help!

You knou, for agencies such as ours the analytics is one of the most important parameters for choosing a video player. We have to give detailed campaign results to our clients and what was enough a couple of years ago is not today.

    Thanks, great plugin!

I think it’s possible I’ll have a few days free in the near future to do something with this, but it’s also possible I’ll never get it to work. I’ve never had any need for these sorts of analytics so I’m flying blind here. Pause and Resume should be easy, but Timeline Jump is not exactly an event in the HTML5 video API so that would be the trickiest to implement. Is it an event that’s reported any time a user skips from one part of a video to the other? Does it include timecode information?

Hi, very kind of you. Thanks!

The Timeline jump is practically click on the “time-bar” under the video. It does not matter if the video is currently in the play or stop mode. The event does not need to contain information about where the jump goes. Jus that it happened.

Actually I think that’s just the seeked event, so it might be even simpler than I thought.
