Can you please enable debugging mode, Please add following lines to wp-config.php just before where it says: /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false );
define( ‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true );
Then try to run the image compression again.
A debug.log file should be created inside wp-content folder,which should contain error information in it, Please share the file with us.

I see the same issue with your plugin aswell. Just not image compression. Also “Run Now” on preload and other things.
Both on Apache servers and LiteSpeed servers with different PHP versions.
No debug log is created.

i tried to test it again..
I have deleted the first debug.log file in the wp-content folder and i’ve retried to compress other images.. obviously the message is still shown but the log file is not created like Mortn (@hedloff) say..

Could you send me a copy of your server’s PHP Error log?
You can find this log through your web hosting control panel (typically cPanel). If you are unsure where to find the PHP Error log, you can ask your hosts to provide it.

I also tried to delete the content of debug.log.. the upload some images and then compress theme but nothing is written to the log file..
@guitarman01 the issue is that the MySQL server is unstable “PHP Warning: mysqli_query(): MySQL server has gone away” So you are seeing the message “An unexpected response was received from the server”.
Make sure your MySQL server is up and running.
Do you think i need to contact my hosting?

@guitarman01 The warning is generated from the must user Godaddy plugin, Can you please try to disable other plugins one by one and then to re-run the compression of images and check if it helps to fix the issue?
Mu-plugins are must use plugin of wordpress..

I dont know how to disable these plugin..
I’ve already tried to rename the folder but after a few minutes abituer one “mu plugin” folder is generated.

It was a plugin confoguration conflict..
