• Ok, I’ve spent a couple of hours scouring the net and I cannot find any useful fixes for this problem in 3.0.

Everything I try and do, import old information, add a plugin, theme etc… all return this error.

An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.

It’s a clean fresh install of 3.0 with nothing else added to it… any suggestions?

Also going to add that ALL of the plugins on the dashboard also display

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: connect() timed out!

Anything? I’m starting to think that this may be a hosting issue and something only they can solve, but unfortunately the company I’m with at the moment is closed for the weekend.

It does sound like it could be the server. Have you run WP on it previously?

I’ve run a previous version of wordpress on it, however I used their “wordpress builder plugin” but that plugin wont let me upgrade that copy of wordpress to the new 3.0, so this time I installed everything myself over ftp.

It might be worth contacting your hosts and asking what, if any difference, there is between their WordPress install & a manual install.
