Thanks for getting in touch. The notice you encounter is normal if you already have an existing Analytics snippet which you have access to implemented in your site. Site Kit uses this existing snippet to pull your information from this account and display it within the Site Kit Analytics dashboards.

You can of course remove that existing snippet you’ve inserted manually or with a plugin/theme configuration if you wish, and allow Site Kit to insert the snippet for you. Eitherway I can confirm this notice is normal.

Let me know if have any further queries on this and we’d be happy to help.

How do you I remove this message “An existing analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-174635839-1. If later on you decide to replace this tag, Site Kit can place the new tag for you. Make sure you remove the old tag first.”

And will this message cause problem while I apply for Google Adsense? I don’t even know which other plugins are using ID UA-174635839-1! So, kindly help.

No problem at all, happy to help. You can ignore this message and proceed with Analytics setup on the same screen. Your existing Analytics snippet must have been placed on your site at some stage, via a plugin, a theme configuration or maybe a manual insertion. You should already have access to that property when you access the Analytics service.

And will this message cause problem while I apply for Google Adsense? I don’t even know which other plugins are using ID UA-174635839-1! So, kindly help.

The Analytics and AdSense modules are not connected. It doesn’t have any impact on AdSense account or site approval.

Actually, I already setup the Site Kit along with Search Console, Google Analytics and Tag Manager. But, I still get this message =>Settings =>Connected Services =>Analytics => “An existing analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-174635839-1. If later on you decide to replace this tag, Site Kit can place the new tag for you. Make sure you remove the old tag first.”

I am just a simple person with zero background on Web programming and so I have no clue as to which other Plugins (other than Google Site Kit) uses ID UA-174635839-1.

Despite configuring Site Kit with Search Console, Google Analytics and Tag Manager…will this same above message disrupt Site Kit or even cause problems for ascertaining correctly the web visitors for Google Analytics?

Sorry…I also have an important Site Kit related question…I sincerely would appreciate if you could kindly tell how many times a person can apply for Adsense through Site Kit in a given period of time or is there a permanent Google Ban for anyone who applies many times in a short period time through Site Kit? For your kind info: I only applied for Google Adsense just 4 Times but was never given any reasons for Adsense rejection by E-Mail…except a message in the Google Adsense Account mentioning about lack of staffs due to Corona Virus.

Kindly help and thank you again for your kind support πŸ™‚

When you see that notice you can click on the “Configure Analytics” button to continue and use that Analytics property.

If you’ve used Site Kit to submit your site for approval for the AdSense network you’ll hear back from the AdSense team in relation to your site or account status. Unfortunately we don’t have access to your AdSense account, although the AdSense Help Center should be able to assist.

    Hi there πŸ™‚

Thank you again for your kind reply…There is no “Configure Analytics”…This is the entire message “Analytics is Connected

An existing analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-174635839-1. If later on you decide to replace this tag, Site Kit can place the new tag for you. Make sure you remove the old tag first.

The only other button that can be clicked are: “Edit” and “See full details in Analytics”.

If this message β€œAn existing analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-174635839-1. If later on you decide to replace this tag, Site Kit can place the new tag for you. Make sure you remove the old tag first.” cause problem for smooth functionining of Site Kit?

Kindly help and thank you again for your kind support πŸ™‚ Also, thank you for providing the information regarding Google Adsense.

In that case everything is working as expected, you don’t need to make any further changes for your Analytics to start populating. You can disregard the message unless you wish to change the connected Analytics property.

How do I share my Site Health Information to confirm a successful snippet placement? Also, I cannot see any form?

    Kindly advise πŸ™‚

    (@jamesosborne)

You’ve shared it already after your first message, I just checked. If you’ve made any changes feel free to share once more, here is a link. I didn’t see the AdSense module connected in the form previously shared.

Thank you so much for your kind message πŸ™‚

    You are very kind πŸ™‚

I again send the form filled up with the Site Health Info of Redskop.com

Kindly advise, if Site Kit is working and also kindly advise whether this message…”An existing analytics tag was found on your site with the ID UA-174635839-1. If later on you decide to replace this tag, Site Kit can place the new tag for you. Make sure you remove the old tag first.”…would create problems for SiteKit?

Regarding Adsense, I removed the Adsense as I thought that the Adsense Plugin was the reason the above message kept showing and also I was afraid that Google might ban my website for applying for Adsense 4 times between mid August 2020 and end of September 2020. I thought I will reinstall the Adsense after a certain period has elapsed like after a month πŸ™‚

I sincerely thank your kindness and prompt support πŸ™‚

From inspecting your Site Health information the Analytics service is already connected. If you would like please share a screenshot of the notice please do so using Google drive or an image sharing service such as Imgur. Users should see the “An existing analytics tag was found” notice during Analytics setup, informing them that a snippet is already placed.
