    Hello,

We’re seeing “An error occurred, please try again.” when checking out via a Leaky Paywall registration level. Is this plugin compatible with Leaky Paywall?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

We didn’t test our plugin with the Leaky Paywall. But the Anti-Spam shouldn’t affect it. Could you provide us with more details about the issue? Are there any PHP errors in your web server’s PHP logs? Why do you think the issue is related to the Anti-Spam plugin? Have you tried disabling the Anti-Spam plugin? Did this solve the problem?

Disabling CleanTalk resolves the problem. It appears the plugin is not compatible with Leaky Paywall. Any chance you can make it compatible with Leaky Paywall?

    Hello @paywall,

We’ve fixed the issue. All the fixes are already on your sites. The fixes are also will be added to the next releases.

Just in case, you can download the fix version from here: https://github.com/CleanTalk/wordpress-antispam/releases/download/fix-version/cleantalk-spam-protect.zip

Thank you! This appears to resolve the issue with Leaky Paywall.

Also, just a heads-up. We installed this on a site without Leaky Paywall and found it doesn’t protect at all. All of the fake email tests got through WP Forms and others. For non-Leaky Paywall sites, the current version of the plugin 6.48.2 works without issue.

    Thanks again for the update!

    Hello @paywall,

We are glad to know the issue is solved.

If you have a moment, could you please leave us some feedback? We would be very grateful: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/cleantalk-spam-protect/reviews/

Do you see these tests in your anti-spam logs? If yes, please, mark records in your Anti-Spam Log if our service made the wrong decision: Your Anti-Spam Log [ https://cleantalk.org/my/show_requests ] → choose your website in the drop-down menu → there are buttons “Spam” and “Not Spam” under every record → mark records using these buttons

    The guide is here:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/feedback-spam

Also, please indicate the website on which this happened.

    Hello,

We did not see them in the anti-spam logs. Once we installed the current non-fix version on our non-Leaky Paywall sites, we were able to see the anti-spam logs populate.

We tested ferrellandbrown.com (non-Leaky Paywall site).

I’ve checked the fixed version and our protection still works for WP forms without Leaky Paywall. Could you please clarify one point, did you or a spammer send the test emails?

If this was you, then you are most likely logged in as an administrator, and our system does not check for administrators by default. Please log out from the website Admin Panel or use incognito mode or another browser before testing. The guide is here: https://cleantalk.org/help/protection-test

    Did it help?

    (@paywall)

It was happening for logged out tests. We tested using dummy emails that did not get stopped.

We’re also noticing that the fix version doesn’t work on all Leaky Paywall sites.

Do you offer support outside of this venue so we can provide additional details?
