Support » Plugin: Minify HTML » AMP URLs in Search Console

Great plugin. Can you provide an exclusion for AMP URLs when users enable the “Remove relative domain from internal URLs” option?

At present with the option enabled Search Console can report AMP URLs as invalid, with one user bringing this up the AMP support forums.

For added context any non AMP URLs with an AMP version will feature a <link> tag in the head of their site, with a rel="amphtml" value to determine the AMP equivalent. As long as the href value within this link isn’t modified Search Console won’t falsely report AMP URLs as invalid.

Unfortunately, I don’t use AMP nor know what it even is, so there will be little possibility that I could make the plugin work with AMP.

It seems to be something with either a cached server or mobile-based speed. But in 2020 mobile devices have faster cell connections than home desktops, so it doesn’t seem like something I would be interested in researching either.

@teckel Thanks for the reply, and understood about your plans going forward. AMP isn’t just for mobile and plugin has over 500k installations, so if you do happen to make some exclusions for that feature of your plugin (Remove relative domain..) it may help others also facing these false Search Console notices.
