    Hi,

We are in need to uninstall the AMP plugin, because we have conflicts with one of our main plugins used in the site. Please advise what are the things we should look for after uninstalling the AMP plugin e.g. redirects from indexed AMP pages to NON-AMP pages.

    Thank you!

  • Hi Danilo,

After uninstalling the plugin all redirects are automatically handled. If you were using AMP in paired mode (via reader or transitional mode) then all your AMP URLs were using a query parameters for AMP endpoints. As they’ll no longer exist users will be redirected to the canonical (non AMP) version if they happen to land on an explicit AMP URL (which includes the /?amp or other AMP endpoint).

Once search engines re-index your site and no AMP URLs are found visitors from search will no longer be served your AMP URLs.

So to summarize there is no action need once you’ve deactivated or uninstalled the plugin. There is an open GitHub issue in relation to an option to remove plugin data within the plugin. You can also review a previous support topic for some WP CLI commands for removing plugin data.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
