Support » Plugin: AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages » AMP for WP Vs AMP Official

  • Today I tested both plugins but there is something I can’t understand.

The official AMP plugin has 3 modes:

    Standard
    Transitional
    Reader

When I use standard and transitional on my site, my website is the same as my non-amp version, like I can’t see any difference.

But when I use reader mode, is like a different website.

Amp for WP is like only reader mode? Because no matter what I do, I lose all my CSS (Gutenberg).

I’m missing something or this is the way it is?

    Thanks!

Hi Ahmed, is not really an issue but a question, is normal that with the official AMP plugin i can get the exact same layout of my website using standard or transitional mode, but with Ampforwp is just a template on my website? Like using reader mode with the official amp plugin? Is how is supposed to work?

Yes AMP is just a template on websites. AMP is using Reader mode to change the Non-AMP pages to Amp Page.
