Hi, I am facing problem with the AMP plugin after last update. I use different theme for AMP and another theme for non-AMP version. But this time, the AMP plugin was not using the Twenty-fiften theme to run the reader mode, rather it uses Astra theme which has elementor and other plugins that are not AMP surported items.

How can i make the reader mode to use Twenty-fiften or any of the other themes? also when i surpressed the plugins, i still got errors while validating AMP URL.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @jameseze

The AMP plugin may not be active on your site at the movement. Please activate it and share the AMP page URL so we can check AMP Pages on your site for validation errors.

Usually, When you choose reader mode it will populate theme choices where you can choose a different theme. (please check this screenshot)

Also, when you choose reader mode you can’t choose the main site theme as the reader theme.

Feel free to share your site health information using this form so we can investigate the issue further

I am still not able to see AMP active on the provided URL

Also, I don’t find AMP namespace on REST endpoint.

A simple way to find if you are seeing an AMP page is to look for html attribute <html amp="">

If you are using a cache please make sure you clear cache.

    Hello @jameseze

I have been keeping eye on your site, I see you have activated the AMP plugin now.

I am able to see AMP page

The Meta generator is suggesting that you are using twentyfourteen on reader mode but it seems to be loading legacy mode template.
    <meta name="generator" content="AMP Plugin v2.0.9; mode=reader; theme=twentyfourteen">

From site info I found out that you don’t have twentyfourteen theme. please follow my previous instruction and choose twenty fifteen theme or other available theme.

It looks like you may have an plugin conflict resulting in a fatal error, can you please send PHP error log using this form ( check for fatal errors ), so we can determine the root cause of it.

In a case, you don’t know how to get a PHP error log you may ask your hosting provider for the same.

    Hello @jameseze

Thank you for the error log.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t helpful to understand the issue, I will suggest using the health and troubleshooting plugin to debug the issue.

    • Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    • Navigate to Tools > Site Health > Troubleshooting.
    • Enable troubleshooting mode
    • Visit plugin -> installed plugins and activate them one by one and check which plugin is causing issue

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterward.

The last point is not clear, i already install the plugin, when i enable the troubleshooting mode, by the right side, where plugins and themes, i should enable and disable one by one ?

Here is a screenshot of how to enable troubleshooting mode.

    Next Step Goto -> plugins

Enable Plugin in troubleshooting one by one, You will notice you can only enable Active plugins.

First Enable AMP plugin, next step check the error in the customizer (the screenshot you gave me)

Now enable the next plugin check error in customizer … and so on until you find the culprit.

I have try each of the plugin one by one, but none show any erro, all show same http://prnt.sc/w8ye83 when i click customize. I really don’t know what to do next.

I noticed on the screenshot “AMP generic compat” do i need to for AMP to work on my site? i dont have that installed. how can i get it?

    Thread Starter jameseze

    (@jameseze)

When i navigate to Apearance – themes, there i can see the reader mode is using the theme 2014. http://prnt.sc/w8yj73 but when i load amp page, it redirect to Astra the non-amp theme.

Do you encounter any issues when switching to transitional mode of the plugin, the Astra theme is AMP compatible.

I also don’t encounter any AMP URLs on your site at present when checking. Let me know once you’re enabled AMP once more.

Regarding “AMP generic compat” No you don’t need it, It is just example on how to enable plugin while in troubleshooting mode.

It looks like we are not able to find root cause of issue, The issue seems to be caused by plugin conflict, I will suggest you look for professional help as we can provide a limited support. Our support page has additional information.
