• Launched American Soldier a couple days ago.
This guy is a special forces sniper, who has been a milblogger for the past few months. He got back from Iraq awhile ago, and is due back shortly. He’s a pretty good writer too.
Be sure to drop him a comment of encouragement.

  • I’d appreciate it if you’d edit out everything following the last comma please.

This is a WP forum, and what was added (and indeed what is there now) could be seen as political.
    We don’t need political here.
We are here to discuss software, not our views on subjects outside of that, particularly subjects which are provocative and cannot be solved through any form of forum discussion.
This is not an anti-USA pov from me, but if someone from a group opposed to the USA posted here and said what they felt and included a link to their WP blog, you would expect me to have it removed.
    And thank you.

    understood.

agreed, podz, and thanks. I dont come here to have someone else’s beliefs pushed upon me (without warning especially)

    By the way Podz,
Regarding the design, what would you have done different?
I realized I have never seen your opinion on design work.

This is one forum I don’t post in (or at least incredibly rarely).
    As for why…
    – I have never offered my site up for critique, so for me to hand out what I have not asked for seems wrong for me
    – I believe that a blog should be designed for the person who owns it, not the people who read it. While a viewer could offer some possibly useful comments, if that conflicts with how the owner wants it, then they are compromising their design.
    – I honestly look at content, not design. I will look at any blog once, but I will only return to a blog if what is being written is interesting to me. The best layout is the world doesn’t alter poor content (content again being a subjective item).
Overall, I don’t think I have anything positive to contribute apart from the occasional blandishment, so I stay away from commenting here. I do check links, but commenting ? I’ll leave that to those that do actually know what ‘aesthetics’ mean – I have no clue 🙂

I think the design is very well done! It definitely has a “military” look to it which is perfect for setting the tone for the posts that accompany the site. Very nice 🙂

    Thanks Katie 😉

This is, aesthetically, a very good looking site. Mainly because it will pretty much be a text-intensive site, its good that its on a light (white) bg. But, what is exceptional, is the header image itself.
(As an aside, I am curious to what font the logo is done in)
