[Resolved] Amazon S3 – Set Featured Image

  • JLueze – thanks for creating this plugin.

I was hoping to somehow call the images from my S3 Amazon account. So I clicked “Set Featured Image” then selected the URL tab. Then I enter the S3 url of an image but the box never seems to reconise the url or image. The circle just keeps spinning instead of giving it a tick which it would normally do in a second or so.

So I can’t get further than this stage.

    Hope you can help.

    Many thanks – Dave

Hi Dave, the featured images are generated by WordPress when you upload them to the media library, so they have to be stored locally within WordPress.

We coded a solution to this. It’s not available as a plugin yet, but it will be. Currently I am running the non-pluginized code on my site. I’ll post here when we make a plugin out of it.

    That sounds interesting!

Yes – it is. At least to me. I dislike the media library so much I never use it, and so I’ve been doing without auto generated thumbnails on my sites until now.
