Support » Plugin: XCloner - Backup and Restore » Amazon S3 – old backups not being deleted

The Delete Old Backups section gives the impression that it would manage all copies of the backup files.

XCLoner does limit the number of backup copies locally in /administrator/backups but doesn’t manage the remote copies on Amazon S3.

Ideally XCloner should delete remote copies in line with the “Delete Old Backups” section.

Alternatively, make it very clear in the Delete Old Backups section that this applies only to local files in /administrator/backups

Actually a better solution would be to have two sections.

    1) for local backup files

    2) for remote files

I may not want to keep any local backup files but have the remote files managed.

    That make sense?

Amazon S3 service has an option called object expiration which you can use to automatically delete files older than a certain limit

    Cool.

I’m pretty new to S3 so thanks for the quick tip and the fast response.
