Well, I used to get blitzed with SPAM constantly. Now I don't. Only legit comments get through. I can pretty much stop there, but...
I'm really picky about installing plugins. I prefer less plugins and less bloat. So I resorted to using some referrer tricks, and blacklisting IP's and URL's, and email addresses. None of which did anything. It was like throwing a grape at a Rhino.
It's been several months and it's still working. Which is surprising. I assumed spammers would have figured out a way to beat this by now, to find its blind spot, but it's still stomping my SPAM like an elephant.
I wonder what all those other SPAM plugins are doing with their bloated files and ten thousand configuration settings? Why install those monstrosities (which I was guilty of doing) when this nimble plugin is able to get the job done effectively?
