Am I doomed?

I am in a sticky situation. My host is crapping out on my and they somehow screwed up phpadmin as well so I can’t back up my database. Luckily, well I don’t know if it is but it is something, I was able to get that file when you export your blog. So how far up the creek am I? Is there other ways to get my database or do I even need it? Also are there other things I should be aware of when moving my blog? Thank you so much for your help.
