Hello, i am now having a problem on my WordPress site.
There is always 1 plugin update. Here is what Wordfence says
The Plugin “” needs an upgrade.

    Plugin Name:
    Current Plugin Version:
    New Plugin Version: 2.0.0
    Severity: Critical
    Status New

Here are some things i have tried
    • Reinstalled WordPress.
    • Deactivated all plugins.
    • Deleted _site_transient_update_themes from the options database.
    • Deleted _site_transient_update_plugins from the options database.
    • Installed the default theme.

    Any ideas?

Is it only WordFence that shows the needed update, or does it also show on the WP admin bar?

WordFence creates a bunch of db tables. Have you looked in some of them for this? Maybe you could search for critical severity?

Worst case, if you can’t find it, I think you could tell WF to ignore this issue?

Any chance this is a subsite in a multisite install? I have several sites in two different multisite installs that always show phantom updates needed– in the admin bar, not WF– and I haven’t been able to find where that is coming from!

I have reinstalled Wordfence fresh to see if this would of had something to do with the plugin and it’s files in the database.
I do not have a multi site installation. I do have a sub domain with Osticket installed though.

Latest WordPress update fixed everything for me. Thanks for the help!
