• Yes this free plugin has some useful basic features but the amount of fluff in it is overwhelming and seemingly out of touch with what real people do on their websites. Many options are bafflingly presented.

And the latest is they screwed up people’s SEO with a major muck up. So a lot of sites would have been better off if they had never used Yoast – they need to start at square one for re-establishing people’s trust; I’m very wary of this plugin now and will be looking for a more wholesome alternative.

EDIT: I just found that RSS “link backs” are automatically nofollowed. Great. So if you’re a hard working blog, are Yoast now working AGAINST you to ensure that if other people pick up your RSS feed then you will receive no authority in return???

  • Hi @websanity,

    Thanks for your feedback.

We’re always happy to hear from our users and take into account their useful comments. In version 7.0 of Yoast SEO, we drastically changed the plugin interface and put a lot of effort to make the plugin more understable to everyone. You can learn more about what we changed on this post: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-7-0/ That said, we understand that there’s still room for improvement and we could better explain some plugin settings. If you find any setting confusing, we’d kindly ask you to submit a feature request to our development repository. Our developers will look into it when planning updates.

As for your second concern, we publicly apologized for the mistake and suggested solutions to recover from the bug on this post: https://yoast.com/media-attachment-urls/
