Altering Gateway Theme – Removing Posts From Homepage

Hi,

I am attempting to make a very simple webpage, without any blogs. I created a static homepage, but I still have a blog on my homepage that tells me that I do not have any content to show(“nothing found”). It seems as though it is built into the homepage feature of the Gateway theme I am using. Is there any way to create a static homepage in the Gateway theme, that has no other data below the full screen picture? Here is the link to my website:
